The Redlegs and Slammers tangled for the last time of the
2017 regular season on Sunday and, fittingly, split the
double dip matchup.
Game 1 saw a spectacular pitching performance from

the Slammers high scoring offense to 2 hits and 1
unearned run while striking out 7 in the complete game

Remember the last time the Redlegs and Slammers got

With the Redlegs and Thunder entering Sunday with very similar records, one would have expected two tight games in the doubleheader at Preble Shawnee High School. That assumption turned out to be correct for one game, but the Redlegs offense really opened up in game 1 as they put 29 runs on the board. The Redleg offense has stumbled a bit out of the gate, so it was nice to see everyone hitting and contributing at the same time. In fact, 8 of the 10 batters in the starting lineup had multiple ... Game 2 was a tighter contest. TJ Ray started on the hill for the Redlegs and worked 3 innings keeping them in the game. Jake Robinson had 3 hits driving in two and stealing a base and Matt Mattice hammered his 2nd homerun of the season and also collected 3 hits.
The Redlegs entered Sunday's double header hoping to right the ship and put a game or two into the W column. The Bats had other ideas in Game 1. The 15 run, 15 hit attack highlighted by a 4 run 4th inning all with two outs and a long ball by Scott Dickerson off of Redlegs starter Kevin Campbell in the 7th proved to be too much for the Redlegs to over come.
