Brandon Howard graduated from Preble Shawnee High School in
his hometown of Camden Ohio in 2002. Howard was a major
run producer for the arrows and was well known for his
glove work at short stop. He was also a key member of the
team's pitching rotation. Howard took 7 years off before
returning to baseball when he joined former high school
teammates Jacob Robinson and Jared Bradley with the Dayton
Rangers in 2009. Howard wasted no time getting
reacquainted with the game. In his rookie campaign with
the Rangers he batted .352, belting 6 home runs and tied
for the team lead with 38 RBI. He was named the Rangers
2009 Rookie of the Year. In 2010, Brandon and Jacob
decided to start their own expansion team. Howard is now
the assistant manager of the Redlegs and plans to build on
his successful rookie over the coming years.
