Matt came to the MVABL as a rookie in 2010 ending a four
year hiatus he took from the game. Matt entered the
draft and was selected by the Redlegs with their first
round draft choice, becoming the first player to be
drafted in franchise history. Prior to the 2010 season
Matt played in the DABC baseball league for the Southern
Ohio Generals. While having a great offensive season for
the generals, he was also awarded with a gold glove for
his performance in center field, committing 0 errors on
the entire season. Matt also travelled to California to
play in a Las Vegas tournament with the San Jose Royals,
a team headed up by Matt's older brothers. He was later
named the team's Most Valuable Player in the tournament.
Matt is a team player who loves to play the game. He
prides himself on being competitive and helping the team
however possible in order to win. He is a durable,
athletic, and fast player who will get on base however
possible.
