The Redlegs sent 2010 ace Taylor Guntle to the hill to try to salvage a Game 2 victory to force a rubber match on Sunday. Guntle didn't disappoint, delivering a complete game shutout allowing only 2 hits and striking out 7.
Caleb Rodriguez got the scoring started in the first inning with an RBI single and John Long added a sacrifice fly to give the Redlegs a quick 2-0 lead. They added 3 more in the next from from an RBI single from Jake Robinson and a 2-run single from Steve Benthal.
The game was essentially put away in the 5th inning when the Redlegs pushed six more across highlighted by a 2 run double by Brandon Howard and a 2 run single by Greg Lebouef. The Redlegs added 5 more insurance runs over the next two innings to push the final score to 16-0.
