Another Late Redlegs Collapse Leads to Loss

06/21/2013

The Redlegs battled the Sox on Thursday night, and kept up with the undefeated squad from Beavercreek for 5 innings, but things unraveled late when the Sox put up 10 runs over the final 2 frames. Don Parrish got the start for the Redlegs and turned in a great performance, going 5 innings allowing 5 hits and 4 earned runs while striking out 2.

After falling behind 4-0, the Redlegs tied things right back up in the bottom of the 3rd. Redman walked, Millard singled, and Arend walked to load the bases. Jacob Robinson and Brandon Howard then each walked with the bases loaded to bring 2 runs in. James Robinson later delivered a 2 run 2 out single to tie the game at 4-4.

But that was all the offense the Redlegs could muster, and the Sox pounded out 10 runs and 10 hits over the final 2 frames to cruise to the win. The Redlegs are off this Sunday, but will come back next Sunday (6/30) to face off against the Sox for the third and final time this season.
