After a tough game against the Beavercreek Sox, the Redlegs
had to gear right back up for the Dayton Rangers. Matt
Redman took the hill in this one and he turned in another
nice outing, but Rangers starter Matt Delbridge held the
Redleg offense down for almost the entire game. Redman went
5 innings and struck out 3 and allowed 4 earned against the
high powered offense of the Rangers.
The Redlegs didn’t break through on Delbridge until the 8th
inning but by that time they were already trailing 6-0,
however with 4 runs scored in the 8th the Redlegs made it a
game at 6-4. James Robinson walked with one out and Jared
Bradley hit a 2 out single to score him. Jacob Robinson
then hit his 3rd single of the game to put two runners on
before Jackson Millard doubled one run in followed by a 2
run double by Kyle Arend.
The Rangers added a little insurance in the bottom of the
8th scoring two more times to push the lead to 8-4. Kyle
Breeden drove in Matt Mattice in the 9th to make it a 9-5
game but that was it for the Redlegs offense as they fell in
both games of the double header split.
