After only scrounging up 5 hits in game 1, the Redlegs
offense remained cold and was only able to pick up 5 more
hits in game 2.
The Redlegs didn’t break into the run column in this one
until the 4th inning. Brandon Howard doubled with one out
and Brad Clark walked. After a strikeout Kyle Weldon, who
made his season debut in game 1, slashed a 2 out double
that clanged off of the fence in left center field which
brought a run home. Clark would then score on a passed
ball. Mike Hartman would pick up the only other Redleg RBI
in the 7th inning when he knocked in Kyle Arend who had
walked leading off the inning.
Continuing on with great plays in the outfield, Kyle Arend
made a terrific diving catch on a fly ball in foul
territory that he had to cover a ton of ground to get to.
The catch ended the 5th inning stranding two runners on
base.
