The Redlegs won their 5th consecutive contest on Sunday as they knocked off the Wild Boars Baseball Club by a final score of 11-6. With the win, the Redlegs stand alone on top of the MVABL leaderboard for the first time this season.

The Redlegs did a majority of their damage in the first 3 innings, jumping out to a 7-3 lead. In the 1st, Jacob Robinson started things off with a walk and stole 2nd base. Robinson then moved to 3rd on a wild pitch and scored on a sacrifice fly from Brad Clark. Brandon Howard then walked before singles from James Robinson and Matt Morrison which loaded up the bases with 2 outs. Howard would score on a wild pitch but an inning ending strike out would get the Boars out of the jam. Mike Hartman then singled two start the 2nd inning and was driven in on a base hit by Matt Redman. Redman would then score when Jacob Robinson singled. Brad Clark would then drive in his 2nd run in as many innings with a base hit.

The Boars offered some resistance in the top of the 3rd, scoring 3 times with a little help from two Redleg defensive miscues. But they took 2 back in the bottom half of the 3rd. Mike Hartman singled and Tim Sullivan was plunked to put runners on, both would later score on a 2-out single by Jackson Millard.

Kevin Campbell got in on the action in the 5th, bringing a run in to extend the lead to 8-3.

The Boars picked up another run in the 6th, but the Redlegs added 3 of their own thanks to an RBI base hit from Matt Morrison and a 2 run single by Greg Pfeiffer.

Matt Redman continued to pitch well over his 7 innings of work, striking out 4 Boars hitters and walking only 1. He gave up 4 runs in total but only 1 earned. Greg Pfieffer took over in relief of Redman in the 8th but the Boars were ready to rally. After two hits, two walks and a Redleg error, the Boars had 2 runs in and the bases loaded with two outs. With the score standing at 11-6, Brad Clark would come into the save situation and he promptly recorded a big strike out to get his team out of the jam. Clark would also pitch a perfect 9th, punching out two more Boars hitters in the process to preserve the victory.
