The Expos tightened things up in game 2 and kept the
Redlegs within arm’s reach for most of the game.
The Redlegs scored twice in the top of the 1st to take a
quick lead when Matt Mattice singled and was driven in on
a triple by Kyle Arend. Mike Hartman then drove in Arend
with a single.
The Expos answered in the bottom of the 1st as they were
able to scrape together a run, helped by a Redleg miscue.
In the 2nd the Redlegs were able to extend the lead to 3-
1 when Jared Bradley scored Adam Parks on a base hit.
Things stood at 3-1 until the 5th inning when the Redleg
offense finally broke through the dam by scoring sending
11 men to the plate and scoring 7 runs in the process.
Jared Bradley and Matt Morrison each singled with one out
and both scored on a base hit by Jacob Robinson. Matt
Mattice then singled before Kyle Arend and Mike Hartman
both recorded RBI base hits. Nick Davis then drove in a
run before Brandon Howard doubled in 2 more.
Matt Redman then completed his 5 strong innings of work
with a 1-2-3 bottom of the 5th. Redman picked up his
league leading 6th win as he scattered 3 hits and struck
out 4 over 5 innings of work while allowing only 1
unearned run.
The Redlegs scored 2 more in the top of the 6th to extend
the lead to 12-1. Adam Parks started things off with a
single, which led to Jared Bradley finishing off a
perfect 5 for 5 day with a single of his own. Matt
Morrison then walked which loaded the bases for Matt
Redman to drive home a run with a base hit. Jacob
Robinson then finished off the scoring with an RBI
single.
Nick Davis made his MVABL debut on the mound and pitched
a scoreless 7th, allowing no hits while striking out 2.
