Offense again was at a premium in game two, this time the
offense was unable to get behind another solid start from
Michael Cookson. Cookson tossed a comlete game in the 4-
1 loss, allowing only 6 hits, 4 strikeouts, and the 4
runs. Camden’s offense was stymied in the debut of
Zachery Carey, who went the distance for the Boars and
picked up the complete game win.
The only run for the Redlegs came in the 4th when Jacob
Robinson scored on a single by Mike Hartman.
The defense played well behind Cookson this time out.
Matt Morrison turned a nice solo double play in the 1st
by snaring a line drive and quickly beating the runner
back to 2nd base. In the 3rd, Dylan Plestch ripped a
bases loaded line drive into left center field, but Jacob
Robinson got a good bead on it and made a diving catch in
the gap to end the inning. In the final inning, Mike
Hartman made a pair of great charging barehanded snares
complete with off balance throws to 1st to keep the Boars
at bay.
The Redlegs (6-5) will look to end their 3 game skid on
Sunday 6/30 at Centerville High School against the Dayton
Cardinals (3-8).
