As the rain continued to fall at Athletes in Action, the Redlegs headed back onto the field to take on the Springfield Indians in game 2 of a split double header.

Things seemed to be going in the right direction early, as the Redlegs were able to score 12 times in the first 3 innings. Jacob Robinson led off the game with a triple to right, and scored on a groundball from Kevin Schaeffer. Schaeffer scored on a double by Brandon Howard, who later scored on a bases loaded walk by Steve Benthal. In the second Matt Mattice led off with a single, and made his way around the bases to score on multiple passed balls. After walks to Schaeffer and Clark, Brandon Howard brought Schaeffer in on a fielders choice and Clark scored on a passed ball. The next four batters walked to bring in another run giving the Redlegs a 7-1 lead. In the third Robinson doubled, Schaeffer walked, and both were brought in on a double by Brad Clark. Howard then reached on an error and Guntle singled to load the bases for the Redlegs. Benthal then walked in a run, and Bradley brought 2 runs in when reaching on an error. This brought the score to 12- 1, but things were soon to change for the worse.

The Indians then scored 16 unanswered runs, highlighted by a 9 run 5th inning to come from behind and win the game at a final tally of 17-12.

Offensive Highlights: Jacob Robinson 2-5, 2B, 3B, 2R. Brandon Howard 1-3, 2RBI, 2B, 2R. Brad Clark 1-4, 2RBI, R.
