The Redlegs advanced to 4-3 on Sunday with a double
header sweep over the upstart Southern Ohio Stars.
The first game was all Redlegs, as they scored early and
often in an 18-0 run rule victory. Jacob Robinson became
the 2nd player in MVABL history to reach the 500 hit mark
with a single in the top of the 1st inning. Brad Malott
followed with a single and both runners scored on a base
hit by Kyle Arend. Tyler Eaton later drove home a run
with a base hit, and Cody Saraco-Polner drove home the
6th and final run of the frame with a sacrifice fly.
Three more runs crossed the dish in the top of the 3rd.

delivered his 2nd two-run base hit in as many at bats.
Leading 9-0, Camden didn’t score in the top of the 3rd
but more history was made in the inning. Brandon Howard
led off with a single, recording his 300th MVABL hit in
the process. This ranks him 12th all-time in MVABL
history in hits, and he needs just 15 to pass former
teammate Clint Wolf and 25 to crack the top 10.
After a 1-2-3 4th inning, the Redlegs exploded in the
5th. Lucas Smith and Jacob Robinson each recorded 2 hits
in the inning, Lucas driving a run home in the process
while picking up his first career hit and RBI. Tyler
Eaton and Mike Hartman did most of the damage as Eaton
blasted a 3-run homerun and Mike Hartman smoked a bases
clearing double to drive home 3 more. Saraco-Polner
added anther RBI, and Jake Edwards picked up his first
career run batted in during the inning as well. When the
dust settled, 9 more runs had crossed the plate to give
the Redlegs the 18-0 lead.
Meanwhile, the Stars couldn’t solve Jesse Jones as he
turned in his first career complete game shutout. Jones
allowed just 3 hits in the game, while striking out 3 in
the process. Jones took part in the offensive explosion
too, adding 2 more hits including a triple while also
stealing a pair of bases.
