Koogler, who finished off game 1 on the mound, took the hill
and started in game 2 for Camden. The Rangers led off with
a base hit into right center field and the runner attempted
to stretch the hit into a double. Jacob Robinson was able
to cut it off and deliver a strike to Brad Malott at 2nd
base who applied the tag for the first out in the inning.
Rob Pederson then homered in the next at bat before Koogler
was able to notch a strikeout and pop out to end the frame.
The Rangers added another run in the bottom of the 2nd to
take a 2-0 lead.
The Redlegs offense opened up in the top of the 3rd, scoring
4 times to take a 4-2 lead. Eric Jameson started the rally
with a walk, followed by a double by Cody Saraco-Polner.
Matt Mattice and Jacob Robinson then each delivered an RBI
single, followed by Joey Watson bringing a pair of runs home
with a base hit.
The Rangers took the lead right back in the bottom of the
3rd, scoring 3 times to give them a slight advantage at 5-4.
That would be all the Rangers needed in this one as the
Redlegs were unable to mount a threat down the stretch. The
Rangers did add insurance runs in the 5th and 6th to make
the final score 7-4.
