Robinson Sets MVABL Runs Record in 6th Straight W

The Orioles wasted no time in spoiling any type of shutout in game two as the first 4 batters reached on two singles, a double and a walk to score a run. With the bases loaded and nobody out, Jesse Jones then struck out the next 3 hitters to limit the damage to just one run.

Camden got the run back in the bottom of the 1st when Jacob Robinson walked to start the frame. He used some pitches that made their way to the backstop to move around the bases, and eventually scored on a wild pitch. The run was the 491st of his MVABL career, moving him past Dayton Rangers legend Jonmarc Lippincott for the most in MVABL history.

After a quick 2nd frame, Eric Jameson started the 3rd with a single followed by a walk by Jacob Robinson to put two runners aboard. Mike Hartman, who has 11 RBI over his last 5 games, then knocked both runs home with a single. Mike now has the 2nd most RBI in the MVABL, trailing only Thomas Troy of the Wild Boars.

Camden continued to push their lead in the 5th by scoring 4 more times to give them a 7-1 lead. Jacob Robinson, Jesse Jones, and Mike Hartman all walked with one out to load the bases. Chris Flaherty plated the first run with a sacrifice fly, followed by RBI singles from Tyler Eaton and Max Ramsey.

Jesse Jones didnít need much run support in this one, as he followed up his 11 strikeout performance in his previous start with a career 13 strikeouts against the Orioles. He allowed only the single run in his 5th victory of the season while lowering his ERA to a sparkling 2.70 which is the 6th best mark among eligible pitchers in the league.

The Redlegs game on Thursday night (8/4) against the Dodgers was rained out, so they will look to push their winning streak to 7 games on Sunday August 7th against the Wright Knights at 1:00PM at Madison High School.
