Taylor Guntle took the hill for the Redlegs and turned in another quality start going 6 innings, allowing 1 earned run and striking out 4. Taylor now leads the Redlegs staff with a 3-0 record on his rookie season.

In game one the Redlegs found themselves in an early hole as the Shockers put one on the board promptly in the 1st to take a 1-0 lead. But the Redlegs answered in the bottom of the frame and didn't look back, scoring three times highlighted by a 3 run double off the bat of John Long. In the second Matt Mattice brought Eric Williams in on a sac fly to give the Redlegs a 4-1 advantage. The Redlegs kept the pressure on in the 4th as Jared Bradley led the inning off with a double, followed by a single from Robinson to put runners on the corners. After a steal from Robinson, Brad Clark singled in both runners to push the Redlegs lead to 6-1. The Shockers tried to fight back in the 6th, getting back to back walks to start the inning. But Guntle settled down and stopped the rally and allowed only one run to score on a groundout. The Redlegs then played add on in the bottom of the 6th as Mattice led of the inning with a walk and then stole second, only to be brought in on a triple from Taylor Guntle. John Long later brought Guntle in with his 4th RBI on the game. Jacob Robinson then made his second appearance on the mound in the 7th, allowing only 1 hit to shut the door on the Shockers.
