The Redlegs squared off against the Beavercreek Sox for the
first of four matchups this season. The Sox took the series
lead after beating the Redlegs 9-3.
The Redlegs got on the board first in the top of the 2nd
inning. Derek Graham led the inning off with a double and
was later driven in by John Long. Long is 7-14 (.500) with
5 RBI in his last 4 games. But the curse of the killer
inning continues to haunt the Redlegs. After scoring 1 in
the 2nd inning, the Sox pushed 8 runs across in the 3rd
inning giving them the 9-1 advantage. Brandon Howard took
over on the hill for the Redlegs in the 4th and pitched 2
scoreless innings, followed by a scoreless inning from Eric
Williams in the 6th. Howard and Kuhbander added RBI base
hits in the 4th inning to inch the Redlegs closer, but
that's where the scoring would end as the Sox went on to
win. The Redlegs and Sox match up again on Sunday at 6:00pm
at Rotary Park in Beavercreek.
Highlights: Brian Kuhbander 1-3, RBI, R. Brandon Howard 1-
3, RBI. John Long 2-3, RBI.
