Redlegs Fight Back to .500 Again

In game two of the twin bill the Redlegs grabbed the lead early and never looked back, giving Taylor Guntle plenty of run support en route to his 4th victory of the season.

The Redlegs got to work early, scoring four times in the top of the first inning. Robinson led off with a walk, followed by a single fro Mattice. Both were quickly driven in on a double from Brad Clark. Kuhbander then walked, followed by an RBI single from Guntle. John Long then ended the innings scoring with a sacrifice fly. In the 2nd, Jared Bradley led off with a walk, and was later driven in on a single by Matt Mattice. John Long later brought a run in on a bases loaded walk which ended the scoring on the day for the Redlegs. William Howard, who took the loss in game one, relieved game two starter Aaron Thacker in the 2nd inning and shut down the Redleg offense over the final five innings. The Cardinals attempted a late comeback, scoring twice in the 5th, once in the 6th, and once in the 7th, but Guntle was able to hold on for the win getting the Redlegs back even on the season at 7-7.
