The next game came just 4 days later, again against the
Mariners, and again would end in walk off fashion. This time
the Redlegs would celebrate, winning 8-7 on a walk-off single
by Ben Schooler. Schooler added three more hits, three more
RBI, and a double, adding to his impressive sophomore season
with the Redlegs as he now stands with a team high 12 doubles,
40 hits, and 23 RBI. Schooler is hitting .611 over the last 5
games, piling up 11 hits, 10 RBI, and 4 doubles to bring his
season average up to an eye popping .513. He’s currently
riding a team leading 12 game hit streak. Matt Mattice and
Mike Hartman each doubled in the win, Hartman driving in two
while Mattice batted in one. Hartman had three hits, while
Evan Koogler, Mattice, and Markus Neff added two hits each.
Tyler Eaton picked up the victory in relief. Kevin Campbell
became only the 3rd player in MVABL history to surpass 600
career innings pitched, tossing an inning of relief in the
victory.
