Redlegs Inaugural Season Comes to an End

09/22/2010

The Camden Redlegs ended their season by getting knocked off in the first round of the MVABL playoffs by the Shockers. The Redlegs won the first game in the three game series with some timely hitting and solid pitching by starter Brian Kuhbander and relievers Kevin Campbell and Brandon Howard winning the game 14-9. Hoping to sweep the series and avoid a game 3 the following day, the Redlegs started off strong in game 2 with a 1st inning grand slam by Howard. The Redlegs added 2 more in the second but then were shut down the rest of the way. Taylor Guntle started the 2nd game but had no answer for the Shockers offense. They knocked him out early and the Redlegs ran out of pitchers leading to a 15-6 defeat. The Redlegs started game 3 out strong as well taking a 5-2 lead after 3. They couldn't hang onto that lead and the teams went back and forth until the Shockers put the nail in the coffin with a 5 run 8th to put the Redlegs behind for good and advance to the second round with a 15-11 win.
