Camden Loses 2nd Straight

The Redlegs got their 2nd dose of baseball in 3 days as they took on the Beavercreek Sox at Rotary Park at 8:30pm Tuesday night. Sox pitching kept the bats quiet all night for the Redlegs, as they could only muster 4 hits for the 2nd straight game. Jon Venters returned from the Independent League to start against the Redlegs and promptly mowed down 8 batters in 3 innings of work, giving up only one run on a double by Brian Kuhbander after Kevin Campbell reached on an error. The bats didn’t heat up against the Sox relief either, Wes Rehmert relieved Venters in the 4th and racked up 9 strikeouts of his own over the final four innings. Kuhbander was the only Redleg to not strikeout in the game.

The Redlegs hope to rebound Sunday as the lock up with the Shockers and Cardinals at 1:00 and 4:00 in a split double header at Preble Shawnee High School. Both teams will have revenge on the mind as they have both fallen to the Camden Club earlier in the season.
