The Redlegs met up with the Rangers in the 2nd Annual Backyard Battle on Saturday for a double header at Springboro High School. Game 1 featured Brad Clark up against Ranger rookie Luke Trubee, which turned out to be a fantastic pitcher’s duel. The Rangers scored an unearned run in the first, and later scored on a solo homerun by Josh Cawein, which turned out to be all the offense they would need. Trubee ended up 2-hitting the Redlegs as Jacob Robinson and Steve Benthal were the only Redlegs to notch a hit on the Rangers starter. Clark took the hard luck loss, going 7 innings, striking out 1, and allowing only 4 hits and 1 earned run. Brad leads the team in ERA but unfortunately hasn’t had much offensive help as shown by his 1-3 record.
