The Redlegs were able to get two big wins last Sunday, besting the Miami Valley Thunder in both games of a double header. The Redlegs offense exploded for 35 runs on the day, which was exactly how many runs they scored through their previous 8 games.

Kevin Campbell started on the hill in game 1 and gave up 6 hits through his 5 innings, allowing 1 earned run and striking out 3 in the complete game effort. With the win Campbell now leads the pitching staff with 3 wins.

The Redlegs got started early in game 1 as they pounded out 7 runs in the first inning. Robinson and Mattice led off the inning with walks and Clark singled to load the bases. Taylor Guntle then brought in a run with a single followed Justin McCurdy’s 2 RBI single. Brandon Longacre then doubled in another run and scored on single off the bat of Robinson. Bradley then drove in another run in the 3rd inning before the offense opened up again in the 4th where they scored 6 more runs. McCurdy started the scoring when he drove in 2 runs with a double, then Long and Robinson contributed RBI singles before Matt Mattice drove in a run with a double of his own. The 5th inning ended up being the game’s final inning as the Camden Club cruised to a run rule victory. The last four runs were driven in by consecutive doubles from Caleb Rodriguez and Jared Bradley to end the game at a final score of 18-2.
