Clark and Robinson Represent Redlegs in AS Game

07/31/2011

Brad Clark will be starting for the Buckeye Division in the 2011 All Star Game. Brad has turned in quite a season so far offensively, batting .444 with a homerun and is tied for the team lead in RBI with 15. Brad is also sporting a .619 slugging percentage and a .514 on base average. But Brad has excelled this season in more than just offense; he’s also been the club’s best pitcher through the first half of the season. Despite a deceiving 1-5 record on the mound, Brad has a 3.62 ERA in 37 1/3 innings of work with 30 strikeouts and only 13 walks. The Redlegs went through an offensive mid-season slump and the pitchers suffered from that and Brad was no exception. This is Brad’s 5th straight All Star appearance which is the longest active streak in the MVABL. Teammate Jacob Robinson was selected as a reserve for the Buckeye division, marking his 5th career All Star appearance. Robinson and Clark are actually the only two players in this year’s classic that have 5 All Star games under their belts. Robinson will also be representing Camden in the Home Run Derby which will start at 3:00pm on Sunday. Brandon Howard, the team leader in home runs, will also be competing in the event. The game will be taking place at Fifth Third Field on Sunday and will begin at 6:00pm. The folks from Herobox will be on hand taking donations to help with the cost of sending care packages overseas to the men and women serving in our military. There will also be 50/50 raffles, a sports card show, concession stands, and free admission! Come out and check out the best players from around the league and cheer on your Redlegs!
